[He did notice that the APPle is having some kind of a time, even if it's impossible to tell exactly what kind of a time it is because he is literally a sentient sparkling apple. Similar to how it's hard to tell if it matters that the APPle is upside down while talking.
Elan doesn't really care much about that, though -- he's more focused on getting things done.
Someone else will have to worry about where APPle's eyes are.]
I am not opposed to holding hands nor will I ever be treating the "engagement" with the sanctity some people think it needs. However, if it will prevent more "accidents", this APPLe is happy to oblige.
[What's with the supposed teachers here and calling everyone 'young man' or whatever....... the APPle is less weird than Don Quixote but only just. Somehow. He stares at the apple anatomy.]
Then, if you wouldn't mind.
[Raising his own hand, surreptitiously trying to decide if the sizing works. Is he just supposed to grab.....
Either way, he will either wait for assent or for the APPle to move. He really would prefer to be on the one on this end, and the rest could probably do with a demonstration.]
[We just have way too many European people and non-people in this chat (figurative).]
I think the hard part comes after.
[Elan doesn't hesitate, but simply reaches over and in: it's extremely strange to see the glow and see his hand just sinking into apple skin. It doesn't feel like anything, and then his hand is hitting rose stem. There's a sharp prick, which he ignores, and then a flood of rather incoherent positive feeling that is harder to ignore -- he flinches slightly where he didn't upon pricking his finger.
But ultimately the rose is extracted without much more fanfare. He stares at it, and then pulls a handkerchief from his Prince's outfit to wipe it off.
Guess I can't argue with that. [Weighing the options, it at least looks better than the alternative.] By the way, you really have no name other than "apple"?
[Man. He’s seen some shit before but having a talking apple here still throws him off. Not that it really shows on his face, but it’s the thought that counts, surely…?!
Also is the scent of alcohol coming off that APPLe or uh.]
I think I can manage, but this would be a good way of guaranteeing we’ve done our parts.
[Ah, he's a boozehound (boozeapple?)... One of his friends would probably get along with him, assuming APPLe didn't accidentally get baked into one of Yakumo's pound cakes or something.
Morbid thoughts aside, if APPLe is offering, then they might as well give it a go.]
I'd appreciate it, then. Should I start?
[the real bonding exercise is everyone else in amethyst sharing the collective experience of sticking their hand into a sentient apple--]
[He briefly considers how he feels about having a stringy apple arm reaching into his chest.
…
Hm, it might be okay, but it’d probably be better not to take any chances.]
It’s alright. If you’re ready, then.
[He steps over to where APPLe is, reaching for where the core would be in a normal apple. The lack of real resistance is strange, and the pleasant feelings it inspires is even stranger, but he just does his best to ignore it as he takes hold of the stem to pull it out.]
…I’ll be right back.
[With rose in hand, he leaves the room for a couple of minutes before coming back with this board game which was definitely in the dorm the whole time and not one I just arbitrarily looked up right now.]

I do not mind, but was anyone else having trouble completing it...?

Was it easy for you?

[ He's an apple. ]

[I am assuming he has seen apple hands at some point in their threading or dorm history. At this point anything may as well happen.
He does hesitate while looking at the APPle but ultimately he's doing this for pragmatic reasons. To wit:]
........ Where would someone reach for on you?
no subject
[ Yeah, his stringy arms and hands that somehow has a ring on it. ]
In all seriousness, I don't think it would matter, since most of your hands are bigger than this APPLe.

Then, if you wouldn't mind.

APPLe uprights himself and floats over to Elan's hand. ]
Do tell me if you are feeling nervous.

Looks over to APPle, nonplussed.]
--I... don't know where to put it.
[And how does he make it stay on.]
no subject
No. APPLe stays red as he is and when the very red rose is extracted, he's quiet for a moment. ]
... You may perch it on top.
[ And it'll stay on like how his glasses do. He sighs like the aftermath of a good massage. ]
... Goodness. I'm too hungover for this.

I'll admit I haven't tried looking yet. But it's basically just a bonding exercise, right?

Yes, more or less. This APPLe will also admit that it is quite an easy and harmless thing for us to do by our captor.

but then louis comes back with a board game and APPLe looks at it curiously. ]
What is that?

Anyways, places the rose down on the table and opens up the box, pulling out a loop of cord from one of the compartments.]
It's a game I found while taking inventory of our supplies. This isn't the use I had in mind when I first saw it, but it should suffice for now.
[He just kind of. Looks at APPLe and then back at the cord, almost like he's sizing them both up.]
