I think the hard part comes after.
[Elan doesn't hesitate, but simply reaches over and in: it's extremely strange to see the glow and see his hand just sinking into apple skin. It doesn't feel like anything, and then his hand is hitting rose stem. There's a sharp prick, which he ignores, and then a flood of rather incoherent positive feeling that is harder to ignore -- he flinches slightly where he didn't upon pricking his finger.
But ultimately the rose is extracted without much more fanfare. He stares at it, and then pulls a handkerchief from his Prince's outfit to wipe it off.
Elan gives a small nod, and then tucks the rosebud up top next to the apple stem. He's probably asked enough ridiculous questions at this point so he keeps his thoughts about APPle's apparent personal gravity field and/or inscrutable personal fashion to himself.

[He does sound a touch displeased about it, but if APPle is amenable he'll also gingerly pick him up despite the stench.]
There's tea on the first floor.

It is one thing to have a floating apple and another entirely to hold an animated apple. Granted, he is starting to get used to these details -- he just tightens his grip slightly because he's not sure if drunken or hungover apples will simply roll off into the wild Amethyst Dorm yonder.
The kitchenette downstairs isn't the most stocked, but he's been bringing in some things. Going to gently deposit APPle on the countertop and putter about heating up water and whatnot.]

[He's pretty sure; despite the fact that APPle is an apple, he gives off those vibes, so maybe that's why he has the particular preference in wine? He wracks his brains of old literature and nebulous social drinking conventions for a moment.
No, he's pretty sure sherry is just sherry. Maybe it's used back in the Fronts as well, but he wouldn't know those details firsthand.]

I simply enjoy drinking, whether it is on my own or with others. But sometimes... this APPLe supposes he drinks by himself more than not. There is no specific reason... I suppose.
[He lets APPle take his time thinking; whether his strange fruit noggin is being laid low by wine or the sounds of the kettle finishing up, they still have a little while to wait, anyways. Though, they can do that while the tea steeps; APPle is presented with a steaming mug, should he feel like having hands at some point. It's just herbal tea, nothing fancy.

[He does come from a school, after all, where not everyone is given a pass to lubricate market connections with alcohol -- and even when they are, it's in quite restricted settings and occasions. Who knows if it will be relevant here.
But -- he takes a small sip and lets it settle. This gathering is a little different, even if it's also much, much stranger.]
But it also goes well with most books, and is easy to get and to make.
