[He's looking at the steering wheel more thoughtfully now. Connecting some dots... He did spend a long time trying to figure out if the sentient apple was still sentient during execution, so it's easy to recall that particular detail.
He's not sure what they'd do with this knowledge, or whether they should use it, but they have it now. For better or for worse.
Elan doesn't particularly hesitate when APPle asks, snapping him out of his thoughts again. Privacy is a luxury; why should he afford it to that individual in particular?]
I asked, because I want to hear it. It's better to share if you can.
[ He knows that Elan has very much a bone to pick too. Perhaps it's this APPLe's nature that wants to protect his dormmates. They might not have known each other for long, but he feels a certain bond with them. The memory consists of a mundane event of eating food together, namely chestnuts. This APPLe does not the know the person Gabimaru was supposedly speaking to, but it seems to be implied that it is the "her" that he would do anything for... or so he claimed. For what seems to be an extremely violent life, a spot of the peaceful mundane would mean very much to him--is my hypothesis.
He's dealt with several aspects of these secrets now: his own, from far away. Someone else's, too close for comfort. Gabimaru's is neither of these things, even though he recognizes aspects of it that he would rather not; it doesn't particularly interest him to dig into why. He's been there before.]
If that is the reason he killed... then I don't think he'd throw it away lightly. These secrets are connections, but they're also keys. Sika Madu said it like a threat.
If he doesn't get it back, he won't be able to go home to her.
[Of course, being written out of the story might be the end of that anyway. But that's a different problem considering the car they're sitting in.]
There might be a way to get it back, even if he doesn't want to. But...
[That's assuming Sika Madu told the truth. He watches the APPle closely.
He isn't exactly one of the best out there at reading people, never mind anything else, but... maybe speaking with APPle more will help. They have two pairs to reference now; perhaps that counts for something.]

Which means I can't either if he doesn't... I see.
[ ... ]
I see.
[ Yes, APPLe. You said that. ]
He has a one track mind, so a part of this will be quite simple.

[ He doesn't really sound proud about it though. It's more like "i really have to do this now, huh" sort of vibes. ]
And I can set up a negotiation that way.
[ A one-sided negotiation because there's no negotiating once you lost your cool. The advantage will be in APPLe's hands. He hopes, at least. ]

[Though, there had certainly been a lot of gabbing too, hadn't there?
His eyes flicker over to the Lavicar for a moment.]
We should make sure we know what he can do.
no subject
Oh, waffle. Will he be running us over too? Goodness gracious.
no subject
Can you float too high to be run over...?
no subject
[ ... ]
But this APPLe is more worried for the rest of you who cannot float with him.
no subject
[Hmmm.]
If he's been written out of the story, then I wonder if he can still affect it. We can add that to our tests.

[ Surely, they must be in the same state, right? Right. ]
Words have more impact in a "story" like this, so I wonder.
