[ there's no way that lavi is buying into the "i'll be alright"/"i'm fine" narrative, but, at the same time, there isn't much that they can do here. which really< really sucks. the idea of being forced to just wait everything out... ]
I feel like whatever is going to happen next has been written on the walls.
[ sika madu using people to take their pain in order for them to "escape" and all of that... or, something along those lines. though&mdadh; ]
We've yet to hear or see anything of "Mikaela" throughout all of this.
What did Sika say at the last trial... [Well, second to last she was dead for the last one.] Something about the one we see being a manifestation? So you may be right.
Somehow it feels familiar to me. [Her shadow arms land on her shadow hips. Not that... Lavi can probably see that, can he? How aware is he of his interior.] I didn't come all this way just to give up at the end.
[What has it been doing when it wasn't with Sika Madu?
Isn't that the real question...... In a world made up of shadows a shadow made up of eyeballs -- he glances around warily the shadows gathering just in case. Truly the most reassuring of conversationalists.]
... The Prince and that thing are the same? Or is it that they're working with their Father...
You should probably keep watch, anyway. The thing that calls itself Mikaela -- it might be more on the Chorus' side of the story than ours.
[Continuing to not help while attempting to be helpful in the most Elan sense of the word. Probably. It is a real warning, though. He has no way of telling what the dangers to the Chorus are, so they can only sit here with what they have (One Thousand Swords Nighttime Terrors).]
... Is it still all one story? I'm not sure about that.
[Considering the lovely Sika Madu scenery on the way here and everything, nobody supposedly running this hell is even in the same book at this point.]
The Mikaela we know was intent on keeping Sika from leaving this place, even at the cost of the troupe's selves. I expect they'll make themselves known the moment we try walking out that door.
[Although what that means for everyone, well. He's not sure it's anything good unless they can work out a compromise.]
I think it's possible. When I spoke to them earlier in the week, they were willing to discuss the matter of exits with me, and they mentioned there were Chorus members that could traverse in and out of the tower.
As long as we approach in good faith, they seem receptive to cooperating with us.

[I mean honestly they have a strong family resemblance. But that did seem more like a clone.]

Who knows how it'll play into all of this, though. If it's a fight that we'll have to be ready for or something else.
no subject
Honestly, I'm trying to be ready for both. [Or anything.]

If it's a fight as we are now, I would call it a bit unfair.
[ he doesn't know who all has special abilities/what those are but there are A Number Of Us who have been nerfed and that much he's aware. ]
Not like there's nothing wrong with picking a fight while you're an underdog, of course.

I don't think Mikaela is real. That's what it sounds like.

I mean the creepy blob with the one eye that was obsessed with becoming Sika Madu's prince. I'm not going to just forget about that.

[Well, it is an eyeball. But there's a sliver of both uneasiness and aversion in his voice that says maybe it's more than that.
He's only spoken to the thing once. It wasn't particularly pleasant even as a supposedly round and inoffensive bird-thing.]
It knows about the Troupe, and it knows more than Sika Madu does.
no subject
[ if he could shudder he would but alas. HE STILL DOESN'T HAVE A BODY HERE so he'll do the best he can with his voice alone. ]
But see! If it knows all of that stuff, there's no way we should go forgetting about it!

[Which of these is worse actually.]

I'm glad that I don't have to sleep so that I don't have to worry about how that'll affect my dreams.
[ but will it affect his future dreams? stay tuned and never find out! but really there is no good option here. ]
Could be all of those things to some degree. This entire story has a multitude of perspectives to be mindful of.

We just have to make sure we keep a level head or appeal to what works for them while still somehow benefits us.
