Neither am I. [Well, now what's the meaning of being the "troupe", "extras", and "chorus"...] Think we should start writing things down about ourselves so we can still remember them?
Elan said he was writing things down but it wouldn't hurt for multiple of us to keep notes. I relied on my memory too much so I don't know what my notes would have looked like.
[ you know, if they changed for whatever reason after he died. ]
Everything about me has disappeared; it's probably safe to assume that it'll happen to anyone else who dies.
[ which he tries not to sound too bummed about. it's not like anyone of them knew what it meant to be "written out of the story". as for her other question— ]
I do but... I don't know how much I'd be able to share.
[ you know. the whole situation of having censorship over certain subject matters. ]
We might as well try and see how much you can't say straight. I was talking to someone and found out that people who tried to stay up were forced to sleep that night... but not you, right?
[ it makes perfect sense. no harm in talking as much as he can talk. technically, they know who killed him so it should be easier talk about these things. ]
No, I wasn't. I hadn't been paying too much to the time, honestly. There were different things that I was interested in and I was—
[ and insert the garbled nonsensical noises that they've both come to realize is a thing. less lavi but he can tell by the expressions of the people he talks to that things aren't right. ]
—then the next thing I know I'm a shadow person that can sometimes be a car.
[ well, this might suddenly not make him very popular with the others but maybe it's also a good thing?? only one way to find out. ]
Everyone here.
All of our gravestones have something written about us but not consistent in how it's presented. Some read as though they were handled with care while others read as though there was only a passing interest in the person.
[ hopefully some of the dots are connecting given the locations that were involved with his murder. ]
So you were digging them up. [It's okay Lavi they all kind of assumed that's what was happening anyway.] It turned out not all of them were empty, so... I guess your instinct wasn't that off.
Apparently everyone else who tried staying up passed out, like something forced them to. Only you and Gabimaru are known to have been up.
[ him being slandered!!! but at least he has a chance to defend himself (finally) when it came to these allegations. it's just unfortunate that she can't see his face but at least she can hear how mildly offended he sounds. ]
I wasn't digging them up! I was getting a closer look. [ does that make him sound better?? stalking people... ] I took interest in all of them but I had been looking at Gabimaru's due to what it had said and wanted to see if I could get more information out of the grave-site.
[ ... ]
But if it was just the two of us; I wonder if intent mattered to some degree.
Oh. Wait, then who was digging them up? [Was is Gabimaru after all, or did someone start doing that before curfew?
Well, nothing for it now. It's not the important part.] Nevermind. That's what I was wondering, actually, if it had something to do with intent. It didn't seem like Gabimaru targeted you, but then I wasn't sure why you got to stay up and no one else did. Especially if you and Gabimaru weren't in the same place when curfew hit. If there was just some way to guess who's in danger...
[ lavi just makes a gesture with his hands. if it wasn't him then...there was only one logical answer, right? either way since she's moving beyond the grave digging THAT HE HAD NO PART OF— ]
Intent can't be completely ruled out. Gabimaru was determined to kill someone that night. I just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
[ should lavi be talking about his circumstance so easily? probably not but...you know. what can you do? ]
Maybe there was some sort of other influence that made me into his target.

[--Oh. Speaking of memory.] Uh, this is going to be weird to ask but I swear there's a reason. Do you remember anything about the night you died?

[Something that presumably kept him up, and maybe that's the more important part than the specifics.]
